Recommend me a book if my favorites include Great Gatsby, Cather in the Rye, and Flowers for Algernon!!?

The above are some of my favorites. I ordered 1984 from the library but am unsure if I will like it. It doesn't matter what genre, although I usually like the classics the best. Please help...I'm dieing to read something!!

If you liked those books, you'll probably also like 1984. And if you like 1984, you'll probably also like Animal Farm.

Some other classics you should consider, that aren't too hard of a read:

All Quiet on the Western Front

The Great Escape (if you like this one, try The Wooden Horse and Escape from Colditz as well)

Huck Finn (a given)

Mutiny on the Bounty (and the rest of the Bounty trilogy)

Moby Dick

The Jungle (by Upton Sinclair)

The Grapes of Wrath (and just about anything else by Steinbeck)

That should be a good start. For more ideas, I suggest you ask an English teacher or a librarian. Once you tell either one of them you're interested in reading some classics, they'll be all over you in a heartbeat!
