Reply:I read it and I saw the movie. I think that its a pretty good movie, but you might almost cry in some points of it.
Reply:Hi, just what grade are you in? This book was assigned reading when I was in 5th.grade...over 30 years ago! I'm pretty sure it's still on the list in most schools as it's a classic...and yes it was very good...hell I still can remember how sad the ending made me all these years later...GO READ IT!
Reply:Flowers for Algernon was a very emotional book on which the movie "Charlie" was based. You should give it a try.

Reply:We just finished performing the play. Sad ending, but good, heartwarming story and social commentary. The book is similar.

This book was never required reading in any school I attended. We had to find it on our own. The movie didn't do much emotionally for me as the book was able to do. I do find it ironic that the question "Has neone read the book flowers for algernon? was it good or bad?" reminded me so much of the original Charly's writing I was curious to read this page. Shame most people these days find it necessary to communicate in a manner which was considered 'retarded' not 20 years ago. Sad really.
