well if you did what kind of questions would you have asked charlie?
Have any of you read the book "flowers for algernon"?
I did. I would have to ask him, Why does his life have to be sooooo sad?:(
Reply:I did... but I read it many many many years ago....
Reply:Was it worth it?
Reply:I'm not sure what I would have asked...Did you see the movie Charly which was based on this book. Good story
Reply:"Did you ,Charlie, remember the flowers ?"
Reply:I read it back in Middle School
Reply:Yes and I did like it quite a bit. I guess I would ask him why he wanted to have the procedure done. Or what he felt when he realized algernon was dying.
Reply:i heard it was good
Reply:yeah i did, don't remember much though, sorry
Reply:Is that the book where the mentally challenged mind is transformed into an intellectual freak for a brief period of time?
I could not ask him anything... It broke my heart. All I could do would be to cry for him.
Reply:I read the condensed version for my language arts class and it made me cry...
and i would have asked him if it was worth it. but i wouldn't ask him while he was smart, i would ask when he went back to.... normal. For him, anyway.
Reply:yeah.. i would ask him why he wants to be like everyone else and not the way he is.
Reply:what it was like to all of a sudden lose so much precious memory.
also if he thougt he was brave for doing the experiment in the 1st place
Reply:Oh My God, this book had me in tears throughout the entire few days it took me to read.
When he had his intelligence, why didn't he travel and see the world? I know they went to Chicago/New York, but didn't he want to experience other cultures?
I can't think of anything else. But that book was fantastic.
