Regarding the novel ,Flowers for Algernon, do the scientists ever tell Charlie about the risks of the surgery?

they tell him that surgery is risky but not that there is the potential that he will revert back to his old mental capacity

Regarding the novel ,Flowers for Algernon, do the scientists ever tell Charlie about the risks of the surgery?
no! because he would not have understood, and they really didn't know what would happen. they didn't have a clue that he would revert back to what he was.
