P.S--I would not recommend Luci D's method of writing poetry. In fact, I have NEVER heard of such a means! Cutting up a book?? She must be joking with ya'.

Reply:I'd start off with something like

you meant no harm

to the mouse

nor did you mean harm

to the man

you gave a gift

but a curse as well

you had no way to know

what the future did tell...

if you need more help my yahoo is crazytumbler91
Reply:My suggestion is to use the "Procedures" way of making poetry. It involves using a text and choosing words by pattern, such as every fifth page, on the 12th line, the 6th word.

Another way is to take the text, cut out the words individually, place them in a cup or bowl, and fling them out onto a table or the floor. Then find lines for the poem in the words lying there.

You could use the text of the plot description from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flowers_for... --- just print it out and cut it up, or

if you have an extra copy of the book, you could cut that up but it would take a lot longer.

hope this helps.
